NAC, Glycine and Zinc: What Should Men 35+ Actually Know?
NIH Office of Dietary Supplements โ Zinc Fact Sheet ยท 06/10/2026 ยท added by men35 desk
The Reel combines NAC, glycine and zinc into one personal protocol. But the evidence does not support treating those three ingredients as a proven anti-aging combination. The zinc recommendation deserves particular caution: the NIH adult upper limit is 40 mg/day, while the Reel promotes 50 mg.

The major 16-week trial investigated GlyNACโglycine plus NACโnot the complete NAC + glycine + zinc protocol promoted in the Reel.
That distinction matters.

The NIH lists 40 mg/day as the tolerable upper intake level for adults.
The Reel's 50 mg/day recommendation therefore exceeds that general upper limit. The NIH notes that 50 mg or more over weeks can interfere with copper absorption and may reduce immune function and HDL cholesterol.
This does not mean zinc is harmful at normal intake levels.
It means high-dose supplementation should not be treated casually.

NAC, glycine and zinc should not automatically be bundled together simply because they appear in one person's longevity routine.
Each ingredient has its own evidence, dose-response questions, interactions and safety considerations.

A personal supplement stack is not the same thing as a clinically validated protocol.
If you're considering high-dose supplementation, discuss the dose and your other medications or supplements with a healthcare professional.

The GlyNAC research is interesting.
The Reel's complete supplement protocol is a different claimโand should not be presented as proven anti-aging treatment.
